Guide / Pricing

How much does a small business website cost?

Website prices vary a lot, and most of the difference comes down to three things: how many pages you need, how custom the design is, and whether you pay a monthly fee. Here is how to think about it, and exactly what Scoped charges.

What drives the price

  • Pages: one focused page costs less than a site with a page for every service and every town
  • Design: a clean, proven layout costs less than a fully custom look with animation
  • Ongoing costs: some builders and agencies charge every month; others charge once
  • Extras: a domain name, and optional help with updates and search after launch

What Scoped charges

Starter is $249 for one focused page. Growth is $399 for five connected pages with service and location pages for local search. Flagship is $499 for everything in Growth plus a custom look, animation and up to eight custom pages. Each is a one-time price with no required monthly payment.

The only other cost is your domain name, registered in your name, usually $10 to $20 a year.

Optional monthly help

If you would rather not touch the site yourself, the Keep plan ($10 a month) covers hosting, SSL, updates, backups and small edits. Grow ($20 a month) adds changes any time: services, prices, photos and page edits. Visibility ($25 a month) adds two new FAQ answers or blog posts every month, picked from local searches.

Which one should you pick?

If you do one thing in one area, Starter is enough. If you offer several services or work in several towns, Growth is usually worth the extra $150, because each service and each town gets its own page and customers search that way. If your business competes on looks and trust, Flagship adds the custom design for $100 more than Growth.

Common questions

Is there a monthly fee?

No. Every build is a one-time price. If you want ongoing help, the Keep, Grow and Visibility plans add $10, $20 or $25 a month, but they are optional.

Do I own the website and the domain?

Yes. You own the finished site, and the domain is registered in your name. The domain is the only other cost, usually $10 to $20 a year.

What happens before the work starts?

Ready to talk?
